Apex Metric is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone and Apple Watch. The Android and Wear OS version is in development. Testing invitations are sent by email.

Getting started

  • Set-up: answer the questions on first launch. Change anything later in Settings (gear icon at the top of each tab).
  • Your first workout: tap Start workout on My Plan, then Start set and Finish set for each set. The rest timer starts by itself.
  • The guided tour runs once per screen. Replay it in Settings › Show the app tour again.

Workouts

  • Change weight or reps: tap the number and type, or use + and −. Tap Done above the number pad to close it.
  • Barbell and machine loading: for barbells you enter only the plates; Apex adds the bar. Change the bar in the ··· menu › Bar weight.
  • Swap an exercise: ··· › Swap exercise. Equipment busy? ··· › Do it later.
  • Voice coach: Settings › Sound & voice. Tap 🔊 next to an exercise to hear how to do it again.
  • Apple Watch: open Apex Metric on the watch after starting a workout on your iPhone.

Backup, import and export

  • Backup: Settings › Backup & your data. Your workouts are backed up to your own iCloud automatically, encrypted.
  • New phone or reinstalled the app: sign in with the same Apple ID and tap "Restore my plan and workouts" on the first set-up screen.
  • From another workout app: export a CSV from that app and import it in Settings › Backup & your data.
  • Export: create a spreadsheet of your workouts and body data in the same screen.

Subscription

  • Free period: Premium is free for your first 3 months. Nothing is charged afterwards.
  • Restore purchases: Settings › Subscription › Restore purchases.
  • Cancel on iPhone: Settings app › your name › Subscriptions › Apex Metric.
  • Cancel on Android: Google Play › profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play.

Privacy and Face ID

  • Lock Apex with Face ID (iPhone, iOS 18+): touch and hold the app icon › Require Face ID.
  • Android: use Secure Folder (Samsung), Private Space (Pixel) or your phone's App lock.
  • Apple Health permissions: Health app › Sharing › Apps › Apex Metric.

Community and safety

  • Private account: on by default. Change it in Profile › Edit profile.
  • Report a post or comment: tap ··· on the post, or swipe the comment.
  • Block someone: ··· on their post › Block. They can no longer see your content or contact you.
